Vintage Elder Mark Twain Western embroidered long Sleeve cowboy Snap shirt 16-34
True vintage bedecked and embroidered Western shirt from Elder Mfg. Part of their men's "Mark Twain" line. Could be late 1940s, maybe as new as 1967 or so, but our best guess is middle-late 1950s. Rounded shirt "tail" with relatively high cut vents, as seen in the two pertinent photos. I do not see any missing rivets, all buttons appear good and function. Collar is in very good shape for such an old garment. Not deadstock or mint - previously worn. Marked 16-34 but sleeves seem a little short for that, but probably in line with shirt standards of the time.
Size large wasn't so big and roomy for young men in'57. It hangs and drapes more like a 15.5 - 32/33. If I remember correctly I've owned this gem since about 2004-05 when I acquired it from a Baltimore, MD vintage dealer. The dealer sourced the majority of shop inventory from estate sales or original owners; that's all the history I have on the garment.
