RARE Large Antique WDC Meerschaum Pipe with2 Hand Carved Horses & Original Case
Stunning antique genuine meerschaum pipe featuring two rearing horses in deep, openwork carving. This is an early high-grade figural pipe, imported by WDC (William Demuth Company) and housed in its original fitted presentation case. This example is large, highly detailed, and displays beautifully whether used, collected, or exhibited.
Genuine carved meerschaum (not resin). Large figural design with two rearing horses. Deep openwork carving and excellent detail throughout.
Original fitted case with silk interior marked "Genuine Meerschaum - WDC - Paris". Original stem (appears to be amberoid or early Bakelite). Estate fresh - I have not cleaned or polished it.
Late 1800s to early 1900s (WDC Paris period). Very good antique condition with expected age patina. No major breaks or missing pieces. Case shows wear as expected for its age.
