Mid 50's Men's XL Pendleton Western Gambler Wool Gabardine Flap Shirt Rockabilly

Vintage mid 1950's Size XL 17 1/2 Pendleton Pure Virgin Wool Gabardine The Western Gambler Shirt. Pendleton made this model starting in the 1930's. See ad photo for reference. Please note the photo is for reference only and is not included with this shirt. Really nice looking overall with no rips or stains, but does have a bit of light fading towards the bottom on the back right and a bit on the back of one of the sleeves near the cuff, as well as some small moth holes, which are small enough that they could be stitched over or the shirt could actually just be worn as is.

Some of the stitching has come loose at the bottom of the inset pleat on the back, which, along with the moth holes, could all be repaired by a local tailor shop, dry cleaner which offers alterations and repairs or a good sewing and repair shop. It has some discoloration on the inside of the back part collar, which is not visible when wearing the shirt, and some very faint signs of wear in the armpit areas. The collar discoloration could likely be removed by a good dry cleaner (unfortunately, I live in a smallish town which no longer has a dry cleaner). Overall, the shirt looks pretty darned good for being around 70 years old. It has all of its original very cool looking cracked Bakelite buttons and original label.

It would make a great costume piece for a period film or stage-play.
