GOOD antique painting with overall wear, see detail photos and read description. Issues: 2 small holes in canvas, several scrapes in paint, one small hole in frame, one small (hairline) crack in lower frame, Painting is dark and could use a professional clean and restoration.
Nice things: She is very beautiful, lovely young brunette with big doe eyes. Frame is very solid despite the aforementioned wear. There was a label from a professional framer on the back from San Francisco (see photo). Attributed to Virgilio Tojetti (1851 - 1901), who was active in San Francisco 1871 thru 1883. I could really imagine this painting decorating a Barbary Coast saloon! My thanks to another eBayer for pointing out this listed artist. 31 inches in diameter framed, and 19.25 inches in diameter for the image size.
