Big original wall art Mexican Virgin Tehuana oaxaca collage antique paper canvas

"Tehuana number 3" original artwork on canvas paper collage size 48"x36" from my series "Los Dioses Ocultos" artist Benito Del Aguila. Background paper is antique newspaper from late XIX Century, non of this Tehuana serie is equal because ayers of background paper its different on each one. Canvas stretched on its stretching bars, ready to hang. As you can see in last photos this artwork was selected for the poster of my exhibit, other photos show opening day of the exhibit, with people arround so you could have a better idea of its size. Used many layers of antique 1890s news papers with images of late XIX Century.

It is what I call a Collage constructed and deconstructed by tearing off some of the coats of previous layers of paper, thats why you see several colors. Composition of Tehuana remids of a religous icon like virgin Mary or Virgen de Guadalupe.
