Antique/ Vintage Native American Oil Painting. This painting is an absolute tour de force of western native american artwork measuring in at 53 x 37 -1/2. It just screams hang me over a rock fireplace in a beautiful mountain log home.
This sweeping vista is so beautifully done. To have the wagon train hugging the edge in the safety of the rock face and how reminiscent of Frederic Remington, his abilities to capture shadows and kicked up dust. What awaits them we do not know, however they are being keenly watched by the Indians. What a great use of colors when it comes to the Indians wardrobe. I just cant say enough about this rather large painting.
The frame is without chips or dents, a real museum quality frame. Years back I was able to get in touch with the artists family back east. They told of his yearly outings to Arizona to paint the west, and how he looked forward to the dry summers and the peoples there.Most are gone now and I have enjoyed seeing these treasures over the years.
