Antique Portrait Of Wolf Robe Cheyenne/Sioux Indian Chief Signed

This antique portrait of Chief Wolf Robe is very interesting because it is signed Wolf Robe Chief of Sioux. Now in 1876 he joined the Sioux tribe to help fight at the Battle of Little Big Horn, and won! A Cheyenne Indian Chief portrait signed under a different tribe, could this be a self portrait by himself stating that he joined the Sioux after the fight? Had a portrait done after the battle and they assumed he was Sioux, not sure! But this is an amazing one-of-a-kind piece of art.

The large canvas has beads and clumps of oil paint on his braids and his robes. It measures 23 inches in wide and 28 inches in height, depicts the subject in his traditional dress and is framed in its original traditional frame I believe. The painting itself does have some bumps and blushes in the canvas but no holes. Can be restretched to help with bulging. Light scratch through his hair(pictured). The back of the canvas shows it's age with the mold and markings on it. The painting is a curiosity and has a rich history behind it without a doubt.
