Antique Old West Social Realism Americana Cowboy Portrait Oil Painting, 1940s

This is an early and well done Antique Old West Social Realism Americana Cowboy Portrait Oil Painting on Masonite, depicting the portrait of a wistful cowboy smoking a cigarette. His hat is ruffled, and he wears a red neckerchief around his neck. Fountaine in the lower right corner. I could not find any information on this artist, but perhaps you know more about them or their work? Approximately 28 3/4 x 34 1/2 inches including frame.

Actual artwork is approximately 22 x 28 inches. Good condition for age, with some moderate scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame please see photos.
