Antique Gist Sierra Silver 10K Gold Name CHARLEY Large Trophy Style Belt Buckle

OLD ANTIQUE VINTAGE SUPER PREMIUM AMERICAN GIST BRAND ENGRAVED STERLING SILVER FRONT LARGE WESTERN STYLE TROPHY BELT BUCKLE FEATURING THE NAME CHARLEY IN 1/10 TEN KARAT GOLD FILLING- This magnificent older GIST buckle is designated and hallmark stamped on the buckle back "GIST, SIERRA SILVER, 1/10 10K". The Sierra Silver term was used by Gist to signify buckles that had BONDED sterling silver surfaces. The term is the same as other buckles designated as having a sterling front. The process is superior to electroplating and increases durability, appearance (yields the exact same appearance as solid sterling silver buckles), and most importantly will not peal, as some plated buckles will. This one is being offered in true vintage condition with a naturally aged patina and the slightly darker oxidation that is characteristic of aged sterling silver surfaces. There is a slight bend to the peg on the latch clasp, as our photos shows, but it does not effect the use of the buckle.... It still works just fine when on a belt. Also, it can easily be straightened if you'd like. The dimensions are 3 3/4" x 3", fits belts up to 1 1/2 wide and weighs about 4-5 ounces.

The engraving is highly detailed and the scalloped rope trim is also very attractive. You could clean & polish this buckle to make it sparkle like new again, but we wanted to let you decide because we think it already looks fantastic.
